GENERAL INFORMATION

This mentorship is designed to help you to grow as a character artist!

  1. You will learn everything you need to learn as a character artist to become a successful artist and you can join this mentorship with no experience or as an intermediate artist.
  2. You will have access to all my previous classes and materials ( samurai , Orc, anatomy, heads and body builder classes)
  3. You will get 2 live classes every week on Saturday and Sundays and each class is min 3 hours and could run up to 5 hours
  4. We will work on real game assets and I will show you the game production and pipeline in a practical and logical way and help you to build and finalize your own assets.
  5. You will have access to me on Discord during the week if you have any questions.
  6. I will help you to make a resume and apply for jobs at the end and will also recommend your portfolio to the recruiters that I work with to increase your chances of getting hired in the game industry.

Fundamentals

Fundamentals

You will learn the fundamentals that you need to know as an artist to be able to analyze your work and find the easiest and fastest solution to create amazing characters.

CHARACTER COMPOSITION

Everything that exists in nature and all the great product designs have a specific composition and in my classes I will show you what to look for and how to make things more interesting and make them appealing to human eyes like nature does.

BLOCKING OUT PROPERLY

 You will learn how to block out a model with less stress and tackle the whole character in a more relax way instead of overthinking and not knowing where to start.

You will be surprised how this would speed up your process as an artist!

UNDERSTANDING CHARACTER DESIGN

This also relates to everything I mentioned above and I will go over this and my methods when I make a new character out of nothing or with a very simple concept with minimum info.

CLOTH Modeling

MARVELOUS DESIGNER WORKFLOW

I will show you how to use marvelous designer more efficiently without making your cloth too complicated inside marvelous designer.

MARVELOUS TO ZBRUSH EXPORTING

I will show you how to exactly export your model and how to prepare the geometry to be able to sculpt the details in a clean way inside Zbrush to get the best results.

CLOTH DETAIL AND CLEAN SEAMS

I have my own way of sculpting the details on top of a marvelous model inside Zbrush. I will show you exactly how I do it and make this process enjoyable and easy for you.

ARMORS AND ACCESSORIES BASICS

Armors and accessories can be boring to work on sometimes and I will show you the best methods that you can use to make it more fun and easy.

TECHNIQUE

ZMODELER

I will show you how you can use z modeler to make different parts of the armor entirely in ZBrush. 

Everything will be done using z modeler and other tools that are inside ZBrush use and you can use them to do magical work fast. Coming to this class you will learn the latest techniques! The good part is that you can use these techniques on any other characters and make an entire character without leaving ZBrush!

ZSPHERE

I will show you how you can use zsphere to make clean and accurate ropes and ties on different part of the armor and you can use the same technique on any other character in the future.

ARRAYMESH

I will show you how to use arraymeesh to make repeatitive patterns. Both lowres and highres at the same time to move fast!

NANOMESH

Nano mesh plays a big part on my samurai course like array mesh and zspheres since there are a lot of repetitive patterns on the armor.

 

LOWRES

LOWRES BASICS
AND ZMODELER!

I will explain where to put edgeloops and when to use triangulated polygons when you work on the lowres model. Lowres is not a fun process but I will show you how you can make it more fun by doing the whole character in zbrush using Zmodeler and this is where it gets more interesting because you won’t have to work on the whole character and instead I will show you how you can use ZBrush tools to make the lowres faster, easier and more accurate!

CLEAN UV'S FOR TEXTURING

Many artist even in the game industry won’t pay enough attention to UVs! UVs are a key part of the work because if you do good UVs and use the space properly, you will be able to do clean highres textures and also make your characters modular. I will show you all my methods and help you understand how to deal with UVs.

BAKING AND TEXTURING

BAKING W SUBSTANCE PAINTER

This is the part that everyone is struggling with! To get clean bakes! This has to do with the way people bake, the way they make the lowres model and UVs! I will show you how you can bake all the maps on a complicated character with a few clicks in painter with no error or minimal error! I will make this process fast and easy for you! 

TEXTURING IN SUBSTANCE PAINTER

Substance painter already made texturing a lot easier than it used to be a decade ago! I will show you the PBR workflow and explain how you can make your textures more interesting and appealing to human eyes.

AND THAT'S JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG

During my classes, I will always talk about how you can apply for jobs, how to price your work, how to

pass interviews and what to expect when you go for an interview.

Since I have been in the industry for a long time and I worked both as lead and senior artist and
interviewed and hired many artists, I know exactly what goes through the mind of an interviewer and I
learned how studios offer salaries to different artists.

I will help you to understand this whole process and avoid making too many mistakes so you can speed up your process to success.
